The Hygiene Closet
The AuSable Inclusion Center Hygiene Closet offers free personal care, household cleaning, and hygiene supplies for our neighbors in need.

We offer two forms of access...

First Friday of every month: Open Access on-site in Mio
From 12 PM to 7 PM on the first Friday of every month, we open our doors for neighbors to come "shop" our closet. No prior sign-up required.
Monthly "Pop Up" Hygiene Closet at partner sites throughout the region
We partner with other faith communities, non-profits, and businesses to offer "pop-up" hygiene closets that rotate to a different county each month.

We serve the following counties on a rotating basis:
-
Crawford
-
Otsego
-
Montmorency
-
Alpena
-
Alcona

We need your help!
Option 1: Donation Drives
We distribute around 500 products per month, and have steadily increasing demand. Your church, business, or civic group can help!
Here are the items we have the highest routine need for:
-
Shampoo and Conditioner
-
Bar Soap
-
Toothpaste
-
Diapers
-
Baby Wipes
-
Laundry Soap
-
Dish Soap
-
Menstrual Products

If you would like to organize a drive, we would love to chat about logistics of getting those products to the Center. Just fill out THIS FORM.
Option 2: Purchase directly from our Amazon wishlist
You can order directly from our Amazon wishlist, which we update monthly after every open access to reflect what we need to refill the closet.

Option 3: On-site donation
drop box
Swing by the AuSable Inclusion Center and drop off donations in the box on our front porch. Stop to wave at our security camera if you're feeling friendly!
A member of staff will make sure donations get inside.

There's also a drop box inside our main entrance, so if you come visit us for another program, you can always drop off donations then!
Option 4: Donate to our program fund
Any time we don't have enough in-kind donations to fill the closet, we purchase products from our program fund to "fill the gaps." Click the "donate" button at the top of your screen to donate today or become a recurring donor.

Not sure how much would help? Here are some numbers to help you discern:
$30 will buy about ten bottles of dish soap
$50 will cover one of every high-demand item for one household
$100 will fill our laundry soap shelf
$600 will fill a grocery cart with supplies.
