Prayers Ascending for the Joint Special Convention of the Episcopal Dioceses of Eastern and Western Michigan

Today the Episcopal Dioceses of Eastern and Western Michigan (of which we are a ministry) are gathering for a joint convention in Grand Blanc, MI, to vote on whether or not they will officially join to become one diocese. Regardless of how this vote goes, our mission will move forward, though how we navigate our future may look a little different. For those outside The Episcopal Church, this is an incredibly niche procedural event with very little impact on their day to day lives, but for folks in The Episcopal Church, especially in Michigan, today is a day that will shape much of their lives, in big and small ways. We pray that the delegates to this joint connection know that the presence of God is with them, as are our prayers as a community connected to them.

A Prayer for a Church Convention:
Almighty and everliving God, source of all wisdom and understanding, be present with those who take counsel in the Episcopal Dioceses of Eastern and Western Michigan for the renewal and mission of your Church.
Teach us in all things to seek first your honor and glory. Guide us to perceive what is right, and grant us both the courage to pursue it and the grace to accomplish it; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
